Old-fashioned, full-bodied (14% alcohol) Côtes du Rhône. Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan.

  £9.95
"LE MAZET DES ROMARINS" Viognier 2019 Vin de Pays du Gard

Fine example of Viognier, from west of Avignon: clean, with good acidity, and with flavours of peaches and furry apricots.

  £11.50
VINTUR  Rouge Tradition 2013 AC Ventoux
The estate is a short distance outside Carpentras. This wine is soft, charming, with a touch of pepperiness on the finish. Grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre.

  £11.95

VINTUR Blanc Tradition 2019 AC Ventoux
A blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne. Vigorous and full-bodied, but with excellent freshness. Tastes to me like a white Châteauneuf du Pape, but you can buy two bottles of this for the price of one Chateauneuf du Pape!

  £12.50

SIGNARGUES Côtes du Rhône Villages 2018 Domaine des Romarins
This is a blend of Grenache (50%), Syrah (45%), Mourvèdre (5%). Bottled after a year, this is a beautiful, elegant, rich expression of Côtes du Rhône.

  £12.50

CÔTES DU RHÔNE "Les Bateliers" 2019 Clos de Caveau
A rich, full old-fashioned Côtes du Rhône, a blend of Grenache (70%) and Syrah (30%), carefully made, from organically cultivated grapes. This estate was owned in the 1970s by Steven Spurrier. Currently being shipped - due to arrive in November.

  £13.95

VACQUEYRAS "Carmin Brillant" 2016 Clos de Caveau
This is an outstanding wine, matured in oak barrels, but showing no vanilla flavours. It is absolutely packed full of bright, sunny fruit, and has the potential to age gracefully for at least a decade. The domaine is perfectly sited, higher than all the other properties in the appellation, giving the wine a wonderful freshness (the harvest here is a week later than its neighbours).

  £19.75

GIGONDAS 2017 Domaine Raspail-Ay  SOLD OUT
Terrific, full-throttle Gigondas with weight and density - benchmark Gigondas.

  £22.50

CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE 2015 Jean-Paul Versino
Traditional, beautifully made Châteauneuf, ripe, soft and round, with pleasing spice. Here is a quote from a US wine merchant on this wine: "This is a wine of such dazzlingly gorgeous aromatics as to provoke a smile of disbelief." This wine also goes under the alternative label of Bois de Boursan.

A few bottles of 2014 in stock @ £27.50 - a firmer, less spicy wine.
