Australian and New Zealand Wines

For ease of identification: I have marked the New Zealand wines with an NZ;
those that are unmarked are Australian.

LITTLE RASCAL SHIRAZ 2016
A medium weight example of this grape variety - but very more-ish flavour.

   £8.50

DURVILLEA SAUVIGNON BLANC 2015 Astrolabe  (White) NZ
Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough - here is Decanter's tasting note on this wine: "Fresh spring pea and cut grass aromas leap from the glass, while crisp flavours of lime, candied lemon and stony minerals are carried by a zingy acidity on the palate."

  £12.50

HALLIWELL Shiraz Grenache 2013 Rolf Binder
Terrific Australian red with real guts, from the Barossa Valley.

  £13.50

SAUVIGNON BLANC 2015 Isabel Estate (White) NZ
Isabel used to sell their production to Cloudy Bay. They now bottle the wine themselves. It is full-bodied, full of character, with a hint of tropical fruits in the flavour.

  £14.95

KUMEU RIVER ESTATE CHARDONNAY 2014 (White) NZ
Probably New Zealand's best Chardonnay - done in a thoroughly French style, and matured in new French oak. It reminds me of a Puligny-Montrachet, and is certainly of similar quality, and thus represents exceptionally good value.

  £19.95
