TOURAINE Cépage Sauvignon 2013
Domaine Pascal Pibaleau
This wine from Pascal Pibaleau has been a great success: real Sauvignon character, with a nice bit of fullness and weight.

VIN DE FRANCE  Chenin Blanc    Domaine Pascal Pibaleau
Nice flavours of nettles and gooseberries. Made from organically grown grapes. Because this wine is a Vin de France the label is not allowed to carry a vintage - but when you pull the cork out "2013" is printed on it! This wine is in fact Azay-le-Rideau, but for reasons that I am not clear about it is only labelled as Vin De France.

BOURGUEIL "Jour de Soif" 2015 Domaine du Bel Air
In 2015 this junior, unoaked wine was a particular success - delicious, juicy, full of fruit, with just a touch of tannin to give it shape and structure.

BOURGUEIL "Les Vingt Lieux Dits" 2012 Domaine du Bel Air
This domaine, run by the Gauthier family, is making super-good Cabernet Franc. A new, and very exciting addition to the list.

QUINCY 2017 Domaine des Croix
Exemplary Loire Sauvignon - drink instead of Sancerre.

TOURAINE AZAY-LE-RIDEAU Moelleux  2009 (Sweet white)  (Chenin Blanc)
Domaine Pascal Pibaleau
Wonderful honeyed, nettly nose, quite sweet in the mouth, tempered by balancing acidity, and an amazingly persistent finish.

BOURGUEIL "Les Marsaules" 2012 Domaine du Bel Air
Another, superior, cuvée from the Gauthier family. This spends two years in oak before bottling, and is a more vigorous, concentrated wine than the "Les Vingt Lieux Dits".

SAVENNIÈRES "Clos des Perrières" 2008 Ch. Soucherie (Chenin Blanc)
Remarkable, fascinating, intricately flavoured dry Loire white, full-flavoured, but with brilliant, energetic underlying acidity.

COTEAUX DU LAYON 1er Cru CHAUME 2010 Ch. Soucherie  (Chenin Blanc)
Amazing sweet wine, with an extraordinary array of flavours: quince, honey, butterscotch, citrus .....
