CHENIN Vin de France Blanc Sec  Pascal Pibaleau      (limited stock)
This is a curiosity that I shipped years ago. Pascal Pibaleau's vineyards are in the appellation of Azay-le-Rideau. He has now retired, and no longer produces wines from his domaine. He was an early adopter of organic farming in the vineyards, and this wine is certified "Agriculture biologique et biodynamique". He was a maverick and an experimenter. The appellation authorities refused to allow him to label this wine Azay-le-Rideau because they said it didn't comply with their regulations. As a result, he was not allowed to put a vintage on the label. It is, however, from the 2013 vintage - as you pull the cork, have a look at it, and you will see "2013" printed on it! The wine is serious, grown-up Chenin Blanc, still lively and drinking well.

BOURGUEIL "Jour de Soif" 2019 Domaine du Bel Air
Delicious, juicy, full of fruit, with just a touch of tannin to give it shape and structure. Unoaked.

BOURGUEIL "Les Vingt Lieux Dits" 2017 Domaine du Bel Air
This domaine, run by the Gauthier family, is making super-good Cabernet Franc. This cuvée is matured in oak barrels for 18 months.

TOURAINE AZAY-LE-RIDEAU Moelleux  2009 (Sweet white)  (Chenin Blanc)
Domaine Pascal Pibaleau
Wonderful honeyed, nettly nose, quite sweet in the mouth, tempered by balancing acidity, and an amazingly persistent finish.

QUINCY 2022 Domaine Adèle Rouzé
Exemplary Loire Sauvignon - drink instead of Sancerre.

BOURGUEIL "Les Marsaules" 2018 Domaine du Bel Air
Another, superior, cuvée from the Gauthier family. This spends two years in oak before bottling, and is a more vigorous, concentrated wine than "Les Vingt Lieux Dits".

SAVENNIÈRES "Clos des Perrières" 2010 Ch. Soucherie (Chenin Blanc)
This vintage does not have the bracing acidity of the 2008, but it nevertheless exhibits a lively freshness, with intricate, generous flavour, and impressive length.

SANCERRE 2022 Arnaud et Stéphanie Dezat
The domaine of André Dezat has now split into two. This part of the domaine is run by brother and sister Arnaud and Stéphanie, with the style of the wine staying close to that of André Dezat.

COTEAUX DU LAYON  CHAUME 2010 Ch. Soucherie  (Chenin Blanc)
Amazing sweet wine, with an extraordinary array of flavours: quince, honey, butterscotch, citrus .....
