Startlingly intense wet wool smell, extraordinary, deep yellow/gold colour, and brisk, dry flavour that is brilliant, thrilling and right off the register - you need to adjust your senses before drinking. However, Oz Clarke likes it: he has selected it as one of his TOP 20 wines for his Wine Buying Guide 2007. Drink on its own either before or after a meal, or with smelly cheeses such as Munster and Époisses.

The colour is showing virtually no age, and the flavour is still firm - needs food. This still has a long future ahead.

This wine is matured in new oak, which is nevertheless very well integrated. Outstanding dry Loire white.

A gold medal winner in Paris, this wine is made from super-ripe, late-picked grapes (harvested at 17% potential alcohol).
Wonderful honeyed, nettly nose, quite sweet in the mouth, tempered by balancing acidity, and an amazingly persistent finish.
