VÉZELAY "La Chevalière" 2018 Domaine Élise Villiers
The style of this wine is reminiscent of Chablis, but a little bit riper, being slightly further south. This cuvée is done entirely in tank to give a fruitier wine than "Le Clos" below. 

VÉZELAY "Le Clos" 2018 Domaine Élise Villiers 
This is matured in 500-litre demi-muids (large oak barrels) before bottling. I can detect no oak flavours in the wine - Mme. Villiers uses the oak barrels to give the wine a bit of structure. The flavours here, compared "La Chevalière", are more restrained, more mineral. 

BOURGOGNE CÔTE CHALONNAISE Blanc 2019 Domaine de l'Évêché 
This estate, just south of Mercurey, is run meticulously by Vincent and Sylvie Joussier. Unoaked, but quite rich white burgundy.

CHABLIS 2022 Domaine Jean-Marie Naulin
The Naulin family make a delicious, slightly rustic Chablis, which nevertheless displays real Chablis character, and which I personally enjoy drinking.

PETIT CHABLIS 2020 Domaine Denis Pommier
The Pommiers make an outstanding Petit Chablis that is more than the equal of many actual Chablis. Perfect as an aperitif and with fish.

SAINT-VÉRAN 2021 Domaine Chavet
Carefully made, unoaked, fairly soft white burgundy from the south of the region.

POUILLY-FUISSÉ "Lamure" 2019 Domaine Romanin
This comes from a parcel of old vines in the commune of Solutré, just below the famous rock. It is matured entirely in oak barrels, but none of them are new, resulting in a very discreetly oaked flavour.

AUXEY-DURESSES "Terres Folles" 2018 Domaine Diconne
The whites from this wine have a very distinctive character: mineral, even a touch saline, with crisp aicidity, though overlaid by pretty, white-flower ("fleurs blanches") fruit. This wine is still young and fresh, with plenty of life still in it. 

BOURGOGNE HAUTES CÔTES DE NUITS "Clos du Vignon" 2020
Domaine Thevenot-Le Brun
This is from Thevenot-Le Brun's most favoured vineyard, which they own in its entirety (rare in Burgundy). 60% of the wine is fermented in oak barrels, 40% in tank, and is marked by new oak, which adds a judicious seasoning to the flavour.

SAINT ROMAIN "La Combe Bazin" 2017 Domaine Prunier-Bonheur
Grown-up white burgundy - another delicious vintage for this reliably consistent wine.

SANTENAY "Le Chainey" 2021 Domaine Claude Nouveau
Crop failure in 2021 - my allocation was 18 bottles, now shipped, and, surprise, surprise, all sold. We will have to wait for the 2022. 

SAINT AUBIN 1er Cru "Murgers des Dents de Chien" 2015
Domaine Jean-Charles Fornerot
Old-fashioned white burgundy, lightly oaked, with real character.

BOURGOGNE "Les Chataigners" 2018 Domaine Hubert Lamy
This comes from a vineyard neighbouring the appellation of Saint Aubin, where Hubert Lamy is based. This is taut, intense white burgundy - really impressive. 

CHABLIS 1er Cru Troesmes 2019 Domaine Denis Pommier
Troesmes is a subdivision of the much larger, and better known, Premier Cru Beauroy. I have been following this wine for over a decade, and it is always delicious: fuller, more generous in style than other Premier Cru Chablis, this is matured in oak barrels, giving it an extra dimension of spice and vanilla in the flavour.

High quality domaine, based in Santenay, making delicious wines. 

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 1er Cru "Les Champs Gains" 2015
Domaine Jean-Charles Fornerot
This is a step up from M. Fornerot's St. Aubin - a richer, but also more fascinating wine - brilliant, classic, old-fashioned white burgundy.
